Changes in Serum Ceruloplasmin after Administration of Carbon Tetrachloride in Normal and Common Bible Duct Ligated Rats

Abstract
Present studies are to observe the changes of serum Ceruloplasmin concentration after administration of carbon tetrachloride in normal and common bile duct ligated rats, and to compare the data with several values of liver function tests in the same rats.
The results obtaind were summerized as follows:
1. Serum bilirubin, in common bile duct ligated rats, was equally elevated in both with and without CCIq administration, but the increase of serum Ceruloplasmin level was less significant with additional CCl~ treatment.
2. The ligation of common bile duct also induced a strikir.~g increase of serum alkaline phosphatase and. serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase. The increase of -serum alkaline phosphatase was not sigriificantly altered with additional CC14 treatment, even though a little¢¥ lower value was obtained. The elevation of serum transaminase was more significant with the additional treatment. Alpha 2globulin fraction showed no significant change throughout the experiments.
